Yvette Ruggins appointed Chair of panel
New chair offers HOAP for first time buyers
Affinity Sutton is pleased to announce
the appointment of Sales Director Yvette Ruggins as chair of the
National Housing Federation’s Home
Ownership Advisory Panel (HOAP).
As Chair, of the panel of 15 expert advisers, Yvette will seek
to help lead the debate on low cost home ownership and find
solutions for low and middle earners desperate to access the
housing market.
Along with expert advice, HOAP provides
guidance to industry body the National Housing Federation – helping
to influence affordable home ownership and intermediate market
policy initiatives. The panel also participates in
discussion groups, comments on consultation documents and responds
on behalf of the sector.
Adam Morton, from the National Housing
Federation, said: "We are delighted with Yvette's
appointment as chair of HOAP. She is high profile and influential
within the intermediate housing sector. We look forward
to working with her to ensure that housing associations
are able to offer a range of intermediate housing options to
help people on low to moderate incomes into sustainable home
ownership."
As the housing market has become more
expensive, providing low cost home ownership options has become
increasingly vital for affordable housing providers helping to
create more mixed communities and supporting people’s aspirations
to own their own home. Members of the panel are normally at a
senior level within their organisation, with particular skills and
experience to offer in low cost home ownership.
Yvette Ruggins said: "I am delighted to be
appointed Chair and look forward to promoting low cost home
ownership as a solution to first time buyers who struggle to access
the open market.”
