2011 Winners: Mike and Sue Newdick from Hull, Yorkshire
Mike and Sue have been active
residents for many years on their estate at Marfleet in
Hull.
They are always on hand to help residents with
any problems and work with both older and younger residents. They
help sort out resident problems providing advice or access to
others who can help.
The couple run the community centre on the
estate and have opened a café there and provided facilities for
older people like bingo clubs and keep fit classes as well as mum
and toddler clubs and facilities for young people.
The couple have led the transformation of the
gardens so that residents can now sit down and enjoy them.
A real example of personal dedication and
selflessness towards their community!
