St Quintins Resident Association
St. Quintin Park Residents’ Association (SQPRA) have been
working hard to deliver activities for their estate. Earlier in the
year they applied for Community Grants funding of £1,900 to support
a host of activities including an estate party to celebrate
both Christmas and Eid, a trip to Weymouth for residents in
Binbrook Sheltered Accomodation. The group also organised for
a pantomime company called Pyramid Productions to put on a
performance of Cinders and Buttons at the local community centre.
The show was enjoyed by over 140 local people and many said it was
a real treat for the kids as they couldn’t usually afford to take
them to the theatre.
Building on their success they have received a second grant to
run some sculpture workshops for children. All the activities were
organised and run by volunteers. They give SQPRA an opportunity to
get to know local tenants and to encourage them to get involved in
ongoing social activities and tenant meetings which happen
throughout the year.
If you’ve got a great community idea, why not apply for a
community grant? Get in touch and we’ll see if we can help you to
bring it to life!
